Lake Taal volcano
Weather didn’t look too promising in the morning but cleared enough so that we felt comfortable taking boat ride across Taal lake to volcanic island in the middle.
It was quite windy and we were quite wet once 45 minute crossing was done. No problems with that and after we explained maybe ten times that we would rather walk than use their horses we proceeded on the path towards viewing platform.
Path is covered in horse shit. It’s no wonder considering number of horses taking trip up and down every day but I still felt they could put more effort into cleaning it. Just throw it into bush every morning!
After some 45 minutes we reached top - roughly 500 meters above starting point. View is good and contrary to Lonely Planet advice there is shaded areas and people selling drinks, beer and naturally t-shirts.
After coming back to hotel we had nice fish for lunch. Overall pretty nice day and we are planning on going to Tagaytay to see views from this evening as well.
